Big Burgoyne Friday Special

High Scores Exceptional Low Price

Friday Burgoyne Mixed Dozen of High Scoring Wines

Numerous high scoring wines are bottled under the merchant label P. B. Burgoyne making it the safest purchase on Glug. Grab anything and you will not be disappointed. For the Friday Special I have made a mixed dozen selection which you can pick from over the next ‘now long’. The master-piece is the Burgoyne Rose but please note we make bone dry wines.

Friday Burgoyne Mixed Special
P.B. Burgoyne Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2016 (3 bottles)
P.B. Burgoyne Barossa Valley Rose 2017 (1 bottle)
P.B. Burgoyne Barossa Valley Semillon 2016 (2 bottles)
P.B. Burgoyne Barossa Valley Shiraz 2015 (second bottling) (3 bottles)
P.B. Burgoyne Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 (3 bottles)

I do not like copy which says, ‘contains a taste for everyone’ when the description should read a collection of great wines which will be give pleasure when served at the appropriate time. Indeed they will excite everyone who has learnt some of the truths about wine. Only one bottle of the highest pointed, as I well understand Rose does not carry the same drinking weight as a Barossa Shiraz.

Most drinkers will discover wine when they want to, and then the endless variety and interest will seep in to become permanent.

How do we get to grips with wine or should I para-phrase that by saying is there any need? A recent report about drinkers in the US discovering wine suggest drinking wine just happens when you are ready and this confirms my suspicion that only a tiny minority travel further by digging deeper.

From the Wall St Journal; ‘Last year, for the first time, Americans reaching for a drink more often chose a glass of wine or a cocktail [..over beer]’.

Perhaps all we need to know about wine is the colours change from red to white and the sugar content of white wine increase from bone dry to very sweet. Sweetness can be altered in red wine but normally does not vary a lot. All the rest is detail to argue over though this can be fun.

The financial wizard and speaker of home truths, Warren Buffet puts it this way: ‘Maybe grapes from a little eight-acre vineyard in France are really the best in the whole world, but I have had a suspicion that about 99% of it is in the telling and about 1% is in the drinking.’
If you love your wine but are pressed for time or have enough other interests on your plate the best Glug option is to buy the wines of P. B. Burgoyne. Burgoyne is the Glug revival of the famous English wine-merchant Peter Bond Burgoyne who strode across the Australian wine landscape like a colossus in the 1880s to 1920s.

30 Day Pricing Guarantee:
After buying wine it is most annoying to find it cheaper shortly afterwards. Currently Ben and I find selling on-line most turbulent. To hold our ground I confess to moving prices around far more than usual. Please notify Nicole or Claire of any upsetting price moves and they will then issue a credit.

Wine Merchant Selections Which Save You Heaps

Stratus
Adelaide Hills
Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Stratus pushes the quality limits for Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc and is of a quality to compare with say Shaw and Smith which sells for over $20.

Very fine wine.

Crayford
Barossa Valley
Shiraz 2016

Brightly burns the Barossa and so it should as the wines are world class and because this fact is not universally recognised they are way under-priced. You would pay treble the price of this Crayford for a feeble, Cotes du Rhone, and then spend ten minutes justifying to yourself why it is so great and such a good buy. We have it right at Glug while we can make wines this good and offer at keen prices.
